How to Legally Transport Your Airsoft Guns in the UK

Whether you're heading to your local site or traveling across the country for a milsim weekend, transporting your airsoft guns both legally and safely is crucial.

The UK has strict firearms laws, and whilst airsoft guns are exempt from many of them, there are still key rules that you will need to follow in order to stay on the right side of the law.

What Are Airsoft Guns Classified As in the UK?

Airsoft guns are typically classified as RIFs (Realistic Imitation Firearms) or IFs (Imitation Firearms)/ Two-Tones under the Violent Crime Reduction Act 2006 (VCRA)

RIFs look like real guns and are restricted to players who are considered to have a valid defence (e.g UKARA membership). IFs are brightly coloured and more freely available. They are typically 51% an abnormal gun colour.

Regardless of type, the law treats the way airsoft guns are transported very seriously.
